Nel is an artist-run gallery on the corner of Long and Church Streets, which puts it at the entrance to the Church Street gallery strip and makes it the first or last stop for most people walking it. The programme is contemporary and deliberately unfiltered — the gallery's own framing — which is what artist-run spaces are for.
Church Street between Long and Burg is a short walk with a high concentration of galleries either side, and Nel's corner position makes it the natural place to start. It opens late for First Thursdays, the CBD's late-opening evening on the first Thursday of every month.
