Long Street gallery working since 2004 as a pioneer of urban art from Africa, with a consistent programme of emerging and established artists.
WORLDART has been on Long Street since 2004 and was among the first Cape Town galleries to treat urban art as a serious commercial category rather than a street phenomenon. Two decades of consistent programming is the achievement — the gallery has kept showing the same kind of work through several changes in fashion.
The programme runs emerging artists alongside established ones from across the continent. Long Street is the busiest of the gallery streets and WORLDART is one of its longest-standing addresses. The gallery opens for First Thursdays, the CBD's late-opening evening on the first Thursday of every month.
